100% Paul Pope
This title really surprised me, as I was just discovering Paul Pope's amazing art. Pope's art is full of a kinetic energy, which he downplays here in favor for an engrossing story. |

Fell Warren Ellis, Ben Templesmith
Warren Ellis is a genius, so his take on the "cop who got transfered to hell" plot is both creepy and amusing at the same time. Think Se7en meets Hot Fuzz. |

| 100 Bullets Brian Azzarello, Eduardo Risso
Still counting down to issue #100, this sprawling, intricate story has its highs and lows, but in the end the stories and characters make for great reads in this modern noir. |

Tom Strong Alan Moore, Chris Sprouse
Easily the best concept title to come out in the last 10 years, Alan Moore's brilliant need to bring the pulp/science hero back, accompanied by Chris Sprouse's amazing artwork, presents us with nothing short of fun adventurous tales that we just don't see enough of these days. |

Hellboy Mike Mignola
Mignola's artwork will change your life. I am not kidding. The stories are fun, but the art is like nothing else. |

Preacher Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, Glen Fabry
This title taught me that you could do anything you wanted in comics today. Wonton swearing and violence abound, this isn't for the faint of heart, but its grit and story is still charming and even (dare I say) touching at some point. |
